Ndedema Lodge

Ndedema Lodge, Clanwilliam

A warm and friendly B&B in the heart of the Cedarberg and the home of Rooibos tea

This historic lodge is  on the outskirts of Clanwilliam but within easy walking distance of the village with its shops and a couple of good restaurants. The lodge is a typical, historic homestead dating back 100 years lovingly restored by its previous owners. There are 6 cool and restful rooms decorated in dark, traditional colours contrasting with the glare of the sun outside. Citrus fruits paw paw (papaya) and mangoes are grown in profusion in season in the garden and this ensures wonderfully healthy breakfast – a prerequisite for a hike in the Cedarberg!

About the Location

Clanwilliam is an historic village that played a role in the final stages of the Boer War.  This region is famous for Rooibos Tea.  This herb is a firm favourite as a substitute for English tea  in South Africa and celebrated as a health drink in many other parts of the world due to its anti oxidant properties. You can arrange a visit to one of the many producers locally. Lambert’s Bay is an easy 60 km (30 minute) drive where you can enjoy excellent, freshly caught seafood.
