Fly direct from London to Johannesburg. Collect car and drive 4 1/2 hours along good roads to stay for two nights in the wonderfully romantic Blyde River Canyon Lodge. Spend a day enjoying the spectacular Panorama Route viewing the largest 'Green' Canyon in the world.
Drive 2 hours to the Kruger Park to stay for 4 nights in one of the most exclusive lodges in South Africa - Londolozi. Accommodation here is on an all inclusive basis including two game drives each day. The Sabi Sands part of the Kruger has some of the best game viewing in the park.
After an hour's drive you will fly from Kruger Airport to Port Elizabeth, collect your rental car and drive along excellent roads for 2 hours to stay at the Tsitsikamma Forest Lodge. Accommodation here is in beautiful log cabins with views of the Tsitsikamma Mountains. You will be staying here for two nights and you can visit the interesting Coastal National Park or, if you are feeling energetic, you can enjoy the unique Tree Top Canopy Tour where you glide from tree top to tree top in the forest canopy.
Next you will drive for 1 scenic hour to Plettenberg Bay to stay for 3 nights at the luxurious Fynbos Ridge. This is a private nature reserve just 10 minutes' drive to the glorious beaches at Plettenberg Bay - regarded by many as the best in South Africa. Between June and December you should see plenty of whales in the bay and you can even take an 'Ocean Safari' to get to within 50 ft of these incredible mammals.
A further 4 hour drive along the Garden Route will take you to historic Swellendam - the third oldest town in South Africa. Here you will stay for two nights at the delightful Rothman Manor where you will relax in the luxurious accommodation and enjoy the serenity of their extensive grounds. From here you can explore the coast down to the southernmost tip of Africa or visit some of the local wineries.
You will then drive for 1 1/2 hours to the bustling coastal town of Hermanus to stay one night at Whale Rock Lodge - a continuing favourite with our clients. You will again have an opportunity for some excellent whale viewing duringthe season.
Your next journey is a 2 hour drive to Stellenbosch which is a lively town (second oldest in South Africa) with many restaurants within walking distance of Batavia Boutique Hotel. This is a small, luxury boutique hotel set in the historic heart of the town. Your three nights here will allow plenty of time to explore the exquisite Cape Winelands. You are also only 30 minutes drive to the centre of Cape Town.
Your final three nights stay, after a short 30 minute drive, is at the small luxury hotel of Colona Castle which overlooks False Bay in one direction and has views of Table Mountain in the other. This is set in the heart of the Cape Peninsula, close to the Constantia Winelands, 30 minutes from the centre of Cape Town, 15 minutes from the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach and just 30 minutes from Cape Point.
Your journey to the Airport is just 30 minutes and you will take a direct flight back to London full of wonderful memories. The price quoted is for TWO ADULTS and includes international and domestic economy flights, car hire (based on a Yoyota Corolla), accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis, except for Londolozi which is fully inclusive, in high standards of accommodation, our booking fee and it includes the South Africa Sun unique 'Care Package'.
