Day 1-2
You fly to Port Elizabeth via Cape Town, arriving mid afternoon. After collecting your rental car, you will drive for 1 hour to spend a relaxing two nights at Woodall Country Lodge. The lodge has excellent facilities and great cuisine but you may also be interested to drive into the nearby Addo National Park which is noted for its elephant herds. The lodge can also provide a guided game drive into the park for an extra cost
Day 3-4
This is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive to the beautiful town of Graaff-Reinet where you will stay at the luxurious Drosdty Hotel. Although accommodation is on a B&B basis, the hotel has an excellent restaurant for lazy dinners under the stars. Graaff Reinet is the fourth oldest town in South Africa and is in the centre of the Camdeboo National Park. The scenery here is stunning and you will want to visit the amazing Valley of Desolation which feels like something out of prehistory. This entire location has yielded some extraordinary dinosaur skeletons and if you visit the sleepy dorp of Nieu Bethesda you can even go fossil hunting in the river bed before enjoying a craft beer and home produced goats cheese in the local brewery.
