Day 1-5
You start your journey with a flight to Cape Town. After collecting your car, you drive for approximately 40 minutes along easy roads to stay 4 nights at Glen Avon Lodge. This beautiful 5 star boutique hotel is set in the leafy, exclusive suburb of Constantia. Here you will find some of the oldest wineries in South Africa dating back to the 1680s. The lodge is just a 25 minute drive to the centre of Cape Town and Table Mountain and in the other direction around an hour’s drive to Cape Point. You can also drive easily to the main Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek which is just a hour’s drive away.

Day 6-7
After a sumptuous breakfast on the stoep, drive for 2 1/2 hours to Swellendam which is at the start of the Garden Route. Here you will stay for two nights at The Hideaway where you will enjoy the wonderful service provided. Accommodation here is on a B&B basis and excursions into the nearby Bontebok National Park can be arranged ….or you can just enjoy the wonderful surroundings in the third oldest town in South Africa.
Day 8 – 10
After relaxing in Swellendam, you will drive 4 1/2 hours along excellent and very scenic roads to Plettenberg Bay where you will stay at Anlin Beach House for 3 nights. This is a 3 bedroomed self catering cottage in a development that has a swimming pool, squash and tennis and is just a 5 minute walk from an excellent beach – but there are 3 more of the finest golden beaches that South Africa has to offer. A maid, who will fully service the cottage, can be provided for your stay. This is a great central location from which to explore the Garden Route. Oudtshoorn (Ostriches and the Cango Caves) is a 1 1/2 hour drive, the Tsitsikamma Forest is 45 minutes and Knysna is just a 20 minute drive.

Day 11-13
You complete your travels along The Garden Route with a 3 1/2 drive to stay for 3 nights at exclusive Woodall Country House & Spa. The rooms are exceptional as is the catering. Although the price quoted includes just breakfast, the lodge has a romantic restaurant serving some of the best gourmet food we have encountered in South Africa. From here you can drive yourself into the nearby Addo National Park or you escorted tours into the park can be arranged complete with a ranger.
Day 14
At the end of your stay it is an easy 1 hour drive to the airport to catch a flight to Johannesburg to connect with your overnight flight back home full of wonderful memories.
Prices start from $5,200 ( £3,500 for our British clients) and is quoted for two adults.
